Bylaw to limit bars in the Market

POSTED on Aug 12 under local business, municipal issues

The City is considering changing the wording of a bylaw for the Byward Market area which will expand the definition of “nightclub”, and restrict the ability of restaurants to operate like bars after dinner. In 2006, City Council passed a bylaw prohibiting new bars from opening up in the Market in order to allow time to study the issue. The story is covered in the Citizen.
